Taher obtained his B.Sc. from the public works department at Ain Shams in June, 1996.  His focus was the land development and utilities. Upon graduation, he joined the survey unit at the faculty of engineering, Ain Shams university team to pursue further professionalism. He had many experiences with terrestrial techniques for land marking and topographic map production. He used terrestrial techniques in deformation monitoring of large flyover and critical status buildings as well. In addition, He paid much time in digital map production using CAD drafting software. He used some design software to design roadway networks and prepare bills of quantities for their construction. In 2002, He obtained his M.Sc. degree from his home university. His topic was about the documentation of monumental and architectural frontals using close range Photogrammetry. He started his Ph.D. degree in his home university. He got a full scholarship from his government to continue his degree abroad. Currently, he is a Ph.D. candidate at the Geomatics department, university of Calgary. Meanwhile, he joined the MMSS team to pursue further research in the area of Digital Imaging systems, Navigation and positioning. His research focuses on the integration of Mobile Mapping data date from different plateforms. Curretly, he is working on the develpment and testing of low cost airborne mobilw mapping system based on medium format cameras and low cost intertal sensors.
